Cranial Sacral therapy
Cranial sacral therapy (CST) is a gentle yet specific technique that is applied to the bones and fascia of the cranium and pelvis.
A trained practitioner will monitor a subtle inherent rhythm known as the cranial rhythmical impulse to determine if there is imbalance in the anatomy associated with the cranial bowl and pelvic bowl.
Once a practitioner has assessed and determined where the imbalance exists, they will then use gentle holds to increase the motion in the imbalanced tissues.
When applied correctly, CST is a powerful modality that has an impact on the nervous system and can improve the overall vitality of of an individual’s health.
Visceral manipulation
Visceral manipulation is a branch of manual therapy.
When applied correctly, visceral manipulation is a manual force that is gentle and specific to help encourage the mobility, tone, and inherent motion of the viscera where physiological motion has been disrupted.
In short, our organs are meant to move. As we move our organs move with us. As we breath, as we eat, as we exercise our organs are constantly sliding and shifting within our bodies. Visceral manipulation is a treatment technique that helps the organs maintain their ability to slide and shift within the body.
Myofascial release
Myofascial release (MFR) is a manual technique that is used to target the layers of connective tissue within the body. It involves a sustained pressure that indirectly or directly stretches shortened and contracted connective tissue.
Connective tissue is thin and elastic. It’s designed to encapsulate and protect the contents of the body; muscles, organs, nerves, blood vessels, and joints to name a few.
Practitioners who use MFR, aid and restore mobility of the connective tissue that encapsulates all contents within the container of the body.
